Alucard is the primary character in the "Hellsing" manga series created by Kouta Hirano, and the subsequent anime series adaptation (Hellsing (TV series)), and the OVA series Hellsing Ultimate.

Alucard aka the King of Vampires, aka the No-life King is the Hellsing Organization’s trump card against the vampires they hunt (note: Alucard’s name is “something of an enigma”; “Alucard” is “Dracula” spelled backwards).

Alucard does not fight other vampires because he is on a quest for redemption: Alucard is perfectly happy being an undead vampire and a creature of the knight. He is forced to obey the commands of the Hellsing family leader, which at the time of the series is Sir Integra Wingates Hellsing. Still, Alucard gleefully slaughters other vampires Hellsing sends him against because he views them as upstart punks, “unworthy” of being vampires as they have forgotten what it was like to be a vampire centuries ago. Like a video-game player trapped in “God-mode” forever, Alucard is actually so powerful that he effortlessly defeats almost all of his enemies and has been consumed by overwhelming boredom. This boredom consumes Alucard to the point that he savagely toys with enemies less powerful than himself for “fun”, and truly longs for when he can have a real fight against an opponent evenly matched to himself, a real challenge.
