Alfred Hitchcock

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Alfred Hitchock (August 13, 1899 London, England - April 29, 1980) was a British director.

Considered one of the best and most influential movie directors, Hitchcock was associated with the macabre. His works often dealt with the dark extremes of human behaviour. Despite the fact that the vast majority of his movies have no fantasy element, but are more suspenseful thrillers, "Hitch" has also become associated with Sci Fi. In fact, he loaned his name (but not much else) to a series of books that did contain "supernatural" tales.

The Birds is one of his most overtly fantasy works. Individual birds "attacking" people does occur, but something clearly different was happening in Bodega Bay.

His television anthology series, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, made a big impact as well.
