Alex Proyas

Alex Proyas (b. September 23, 1963 in Egypt) is an Australian director, writer and producer best known for having written and directed the scifi mystery thriller Dark City and the 1994 film, The Crow. Proyas was born in Egypt to Greek Parents and moved to Sydney, Australia when he was three years old. He has directed numerous music videos and commercials.

Proyas made his directorial debut adapting the comic book The Crow for the screen. He later served as producer on the TV movie Riverworld and Spirits of the Air, Gremlins of the Clouds which he also wrote and directed. Proyas also directed 2004's I, Robot which starred Will Smith.
