Alan Tyduk (b. March 16, 1971, El Paso, Texas) is an American actor best known for his role on the series Firefly as Hoban 'Wash' Washburne, a role he reprised in the feature film Serenity. Tyduk attended Lon Marris Junior College where he studied drama and was awarded for Academic Excellence in drama. He later studied at Juliard but left to pursue his career. Tyduk first appeared in the 1997 movie 35 Miles from Normal. He followed up with the rehab drama 28 Days starring Sandra Bullock and Viggo Mortensen and Wonder Boys with Michael Douglas. Other notable roles include, A Knight's Tale alongside Heath Ledger, Hearts in Atlantis, Ice age, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, I, Robot, the miniseries Into the West, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, Knocked Up with Katherine Heigl and 3:10 to Yuma starring Christian Bale and Russell Crowe.
