Alan Cumming <span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>  Alan Cumming (b. January 27, 1965, Aberfeldy, Perthshire, Scotland, UK) is a Scottish actor and voice artist born to Forester,Alex Cumming and wife Mary. He has two elder brothers. Cumming is a prolific actor who has appeared in a number of genre productions. He played Nightcrawler in X2, Fegan Floop in the Spy Kids films, and Boris Grishenko in GoldenEye. Cumming is also a noted stage actor. He won a Tony Award for his performance in Cabaret. Cumming desired to be a veterinarian but later turned to acting. He studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and made his film debut in Prague after a few television appearances and his genre debut in Bernard and the Genie. Cumming crossed over into American film voicing the title role in Black Beauty. He made his first actual appearance on American screens in Second Best and followed up with a memorable performance as Russian computer programmer Boris in the James Bond film, Goldeneye. Cumming gained more exposure and increasing popularity in Circle of Friends with Minnie Driver, Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow, and the nerdy Sandy Fink alongside Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow in Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. Cummings other notable films include Eyes Wide Shut starring Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise, the addaptation of Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, Titus, The devilish role opposite James Garner's God in God, the Devil and Bob, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas , Get Carter with Sylvester Stallone, Josie and the Pussycats , Garfield, Son of the Mask , Pride & Prejudice , The L Word, and the 2007 SCI FI Channel miniseries, Tin Man costarring Zooey Deschanel.
