Breslin began performing in front of the camera at three, making her film debut in M. Night Shyamalan's Signs alongside Mel Gibson. Her performance in that film won her fans and critical praise and led to roles in Raising Helen with her brother Spencer, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement and several television appearances. In 2006, Breslin starred in Little Miss Sunshine alongside Greg Kinnear and Steve Carell. Her brilliant performance made her one of the youngest Oscar-nominees in the history of the awards.
