Bud Abbott And Lou Costello

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

(Redirected from Abbott and Costello)

Bud Abbott (William Abbott) (October 2, 1895April 24, 1974) and Lou Costello (Louis Francis Cristillo) (March 6, 1906March 3, 1959) Abbott was the slick, thin, straight man and Costello the whiny, chubby comedian, best known for taking their fast-talking vaudeville routines to Hollywood. For a decade from the early 1940's they were one of America's most popular comedy teams on radio and film. During their movie careers they encountered most of the classic screen monsters in Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948), Abbot and Costello Meet the Killer (1949), Abbot and Costello Meet the Invisible Man (1952), Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1953), Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy (1954), and on TV's The Colgate Comedy Hour (1953). Their popularity waned after they fell out with each other and Costello made just one solo movie, Thirty Foot Bride of Candy Rock (1959), before his death. In 1966 Abbott emerged from retirement to voice a cartoon version of himself in the Hanna-Barbera TV series Abbott and Costello.

It's usually best to give a very general overview first, then specific details. When including the plot or essential details of a story in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
