A War of Gifts: An Ender Story is a 2007 short science fiction novel by Orson Scott Card. The novel is part of Card's Ender's Game series and takes place during the same time as Ender's Game, while Ender is in his first years at the Battle School where celebration of religious holidays is against the rules. One of the school's older students, Dink Meeker, decides to defy rules, as he doesn't believe giving gifts is a religious observation. On Sinterklaas Day, he leaves a present in another student's shoe setting off a rebellion that sets the students against the school's staff.
