A Series of Unfortunate Events' is 13 volume children's book series written by Daniel Handler under the pseudonym Lemony Snicket and illustrated by Brett Helquist. The first volume in the series, The Bad Beginning was published on September 30, 1999.

The series concerns three children, the Baudelaire orphans and their adventures trying to find a home with a variety of relatives and friends of their parents. The three are pursued by distant cousin Count Olaf, who hopes to get his hands on their inheritance. A film based on the series Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (movie) was released in 2004. Audio versions of the series also includes music by The Gothic Archies and compiled in an album.
