2012: The War for Souls is a planned Sci-Fi thriller based on Whitley Streiber's 2007 novel of the same name. The film will be directed by Michael Bay and written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The trio previously worked together on Transformers. An academic researcher opens a portal to a parallel universe and works with his double to stop an apocalypse predicted by the ancient Mayans. He learns that the disaster, which will come about on December 21, 2012, is expected to occur on all parallel Earths.
