2010 is episode 16 of Stargate SG-1 Season 4.

Summary

Ten years in the future, Carter and Dr. Fraiser, now civilians, discover that the advanced race who saved them from the Goa'uld may be ultimately plotting the elimination of everyone on the planet.

Plot

In the year 2010 after Samantha Carter and husband ambassador Joe Faxon have difficulty having children, Carter visits Janet Fraiser for a second opinion. Frasier discovers Carter's ovaries are damaged, though Aschen scientists assured her she was fine. Carter and Frasier discover that she's not alone, the birth drop has dropped more than 90 percent since the Aschen came to Earth's aide, rescued them from the Goa'uld and brought peace, prosperity and extended life to the people of Earth. The two realize that in a matter of decades human civilization will come to an end thanks to widespread infertility, induced by a drug the Aschen offered that doubles the human lifespan.

Carter contacts a retired Jack O'Neill and informs him that he was right. O'Neill warned against putting all their trust in the Aschen and his fears are now proven. He refuses to help her complete a mission she hopes will save the future. He later changes his mind and, along with Daniel, they visit the SGC, now a museum to retrieve their GDOs so they will be able to get their message through Earth's iris. Carter plans to use Aschen computers to calculate the precise time of a solar flare which will enable her to dial the gate and send a simple message to their past selves, warning them against the Aschen.

Carter's husband is opposed to her involvement in the dangerous plan which requires defying security at the Stargate's public location. O'Neill and Daniel leave her out of it but call on Teal'c on Chulak for aide. When Teal'c comes through the Stargate with his staffweapon, he is warned by security but opens fire on the security taking out several before he is killed. Jack attempts to make a run for the stargate but he is shot down by automated defenses before he can reach. Daniel tries to complete the task but when Carter sees that he will not make it, she makes a run for it herself. She is killed in the process but manages to toss Jack's note through the gate.

in 2001, the Earth gate is dialed and SG-1's IDC is received. Hammond agrees to open the iris despite SG-1 being present and accounted for. A bloody note rolls through the gate. Jack recognizes the handwriting as his own and Fraiser later identifies the blood as being his as well. The not only says do not visit P4C-970. Hammond immediately has the gate address removed from the dialing computer.
