In terms of speculative fiction television programming, the following events happened and shows aired in 2000.
Events
Of the new crop of sci fi programming on TV in 2000, only the syndicated Gene Rodenberry's Andromeda lasted for a multiple-year run.
As the Sci Fi Channel became more familiar with original programming, it introduced fan favorites, The Invisible Man which quickly became known as I-Man on fannish chat boards. The PAX network got into the business of supernatural TV with the summer debut of Mysterious Ways.
In 2000, the final season of Xena started to air, as did the final new episodes of other long-running series, Star Trek: Voyager and 3rd Rock From the Sun.
