In terms of speculative fiction television programming, the following events happened and shows aired in 1995.
Events
Two new broadcast television networks launched in 1995 with the debut of UPN and, shortly afterward, The WB. Of the two, only UPN had initial science fiction programming. It's flagship series was Star Trek: Voyager.
In syndicated television, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys debuted after making a successful debut a year earlier as a handful of TV movies as part of the Universal Action Pack syndicated anthology series.
Other debuts included Sliders on FOX and the fall syndicated debut of Hercules spin-off, Xena: The Warrior Princess, starring Lucy Lawless.
