Æon Flux is a 2005 film based on the animated series Æon Flux. The film was directed by Karyn Kusamaand written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. Æon Flux was filmed in Germany and starred South African actress, Charlize Theron. It opened in U.S. theaters on December 2, 2005.

Plot

400 years in the future, a virus has wiped out most of the world's population and only one walled city, Bregna, remains. Bregna is ruled by a group of scientists with a mysterious secret. Æon Flux is an assassin working for the Monicans, rebels attempting to overthrown the current government, led by Trevor Goodchild. Sent to assassinate Goodchild, Æ uncovers a secret about herself and her world.
